A passion for numbers drove him to the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and a Master’s degree in Biometry. He later completed a PhD in Applied Statistics at Maseno University—placing him among the most academically grounded leaders in Kenya’s public service.

SERVICE ACROSS SECTORS

Before joining the Ruto administration, Dr. Omollo served as the Managing Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA), overseeing socio-economic transformation across 18 counties in the Lake Victoria Basin. His tenure is remembered for measurable results in community empowerment and sustainable development projects.

His earlier career includes 12 years at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) Africa, where he shaped research strategies, strengthened Africa’s contributions to global health innovation, and built robust data systems as Head of the Data Centre and Statistician.

Between 2015 and 2018, he also served on the Board of the Consolidated Bank of Kenya, bringing his expertise in financial oversight and risk management.
